IXUS 970 IS – a very small camera, but working with it makes many inconveniences. Engineers wisely spread the important elements, so after some time spent with the camera, the question of what button to press is done by intuition.
Thanks to a small weight and ergonomic design, you can shoot with one hand. Flash is a little bit put on the background of the shell, which in practice preclude the appearance of dark areas in the frame as a result of accidentally fallen finger.
The front of the camera is designed with silver metal, and the remaining surfaces are made of plastic. There are no gaps and creaking parts, but the camera does not inspire that confidence, which provides metal armor IXUS 80 IS and IXUS 90 IS.
The device is equipped with zoom-lens external focus. This is a traditional solution for Canon. The only camera that does not change in size because of its extreme focus, is PowerShot D10. The lens lays out quickly, in just a second the camera is ready to take pictures. The work of the lens is not accompanied by the sounds of clinking of the majority of the popular line of IXUS.
