Mobile-health company Mobisante has heaved a sigh of relief, claiming that their smartphone ultrasound device, the MobiUS, has finally made its way to the market officially. That might sound like good news to some, but those who do not know how much it costs will most probably balk at the price tag – we are talking about a $7,495 handover of cold, hard cash.

Considering how the U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance alone took so long, the MobiUS system that was originally constructed to function in fetal, abdominal, cardiac, pelvic, and peripheral vessel imaging currently works with the 2-year-old Windows Mobile 6.5-based Toshiba TG01 smartphone, using a USB 2.0 port for the probe in the process. That’s a bummer, especially if you’ve just forked out that insane amount of dough.

Since most folks are jiving to the iPhone and Android-powered handsets, I don’t know how many people will adopt the MobiUS but I guess only time will tell. Makes you wonder at times whether all that red tape in the government could be shortened or not.

Sometimes you just wish to always keep your smart phone in your pocket, and you wanna have a separate device to tell you if you have any incoming messages or other information. The Sony Ericsson LiveView is a little Bluetooth-capable display that can be held in your hands while keeping your Android smart phone in your pocket, for constantly checking of any incoming SMS, emails and other information on your phone.

The Sony Ericsson LiveView is now said to be headed its way to UK November 19 for a price of £50 ($80). The little device features a color OLED display, and two hard keys and four soft keys for control and navigation. It comes both with a clip and a wristband, so you can either have it clipped on your lapel or strapped on your wrist. It allows you to read SMS, RSS feed, control media player and stay tuned with Facebook and Twitter updates.

The Sony Ericsson LiveView works with Android smart phones that run Android 2.0 and above. And your phone needs to have to be installed with the companion Sony Ericsson LiveWare Manager and LiveView app.

And now, a spokesman from Cisco has confirmed the arrival of the new Flip in the first trimester of 2010. What more, it will have a built-in WiFi.

The new Flip, however, will not have a touchscreen but it can move, sliding back to “reveal the record and menu buttons underneath.” This means that the Flip will have a bigger screen—probably more than the current two-inch screen of the top-end Flip Ultra HD. And like the iPhone, I’m sure that there will be some editing abilities so you can upload clipped videos directly to YouTube.

No price or exact release date has been announced for the Cisco Flip, but expect more information to arrive in the following days.

Slip a couple of AAs in there, and its USB port is good and ready to accommodate a plug from your iPhone, iPod, or any other portable electronic device that uses USB to charge itself. Sanyo is nice enough to include a couple of rechargeable Eneloop batteries in the package, good for 1,500 rounds until they’re spent.

Those two batteries will charge up your gadgetry for 90 minutes, which could be just the right amount of time you need to get you through to that next replenishing power outlet. Pre-order it now for $34.72, and in December you’ll have yourself an unusually attractive auxiliary power unit that will easily fit inside even the most compact of carry-ons.

Have you ever found yourself trying to remember where and when you took that particular picture you want printed your friend’s farewell party? But thanks to this geotagging gadget, you can now geotag your photos via GPS co-ordinates. This PhotoTrackr Mini DPL900 is based on the PhotoTrackr released back in 2007, although this one has more features in it.

As you geotag your photos with the PhotoTrackr Mini DPL900, the device will also be able to upload your pictures directly to various online web albums such as Flickr and Picasa. This will also give a detailed account of all photos you took regarding when and where they were taken.

More, the PhotoTrackr Mini DPL900 has the ability to work with a Mac software, and it also has support for RAW photos. This is a big step for the PhotoTrackr makers since the big problem with the previous geotagger is its incompatibility with Mac.

This device, which only looks like a USB flash drive, will retail for $69.
