Developers of the chipsets to support multitouch the company N-trig announced a partnership with Fujitsu to develop a new generation of chips. The next chip on the ladder of evolution DuoSense will occupy less space, consume less energy and will recognize 10 or more simultaneous touches with great speed of upgrade.
The technology can be ready by the release of Windows 7 with support of multitouch. It is not clear whether users really use all ten (or more) fingers, but you can certainly expect the software to work with multiple users with multitouch.
The system DuoSense from N-Trig is now being used in some models of Dell and HP, but by the end of 2009 it is expected to expend the borders. Fujitsu will be designed to produce chips and can use them in their own gadgets.
