Samsung has created a mobile that from the get go, looks like it will have great staying power. We are talking about the Samsung Jet handset. Sure it’s not the most revolutionary of all mobiles and people might say that it has features that can be found in other handsets. But what Samsung has done is take all great features of other handsets and put them in the Samsung Jet handset. Obviously, this made for a very fun Samsung#mce_temp_url# Jet review.
Let’s start out Samsung Touch Phone review with the design. At first glance, you have a large screen and interesting-looking buttons below it. In other words, you do a double take and continue looking until you fall in love with the whole thing. The screen measures 3.1 inches and the dimensions of the whole phone are 1.8.8 x 53.5 x 11.9 millimeters. It fits just right in our hands and does not feel weird when held up to our ears for calls. Below the screen are the call and end keys. Between them is a hexagonal button. Because of the material used, this button looks like a 3D cube. This sure added to the stylish factor of the handset.
The screen of the Samsung Jet is AMOLED, of course. This means that it is far brighter and gives better color than your average LCD screen. This also means that the interface is a delight to look at and play with. The great thing is that the TouchWiz user interface was improved on the Jet. With this particular user interface, you get a better-looking homescreen and more ways to customise. The part that we enjoyed a lot was the Motion Gate function. Motion Gate allows you to access your multimedia files using simple movements with the handset. So what you do is flick the handset to either side and the camera, radio, music player, or whatever favorite you assigned to the gesture will be opened. Loads of fun, we tell you, because this handset is very sensitive.
For the messaging part, you have two options when it comes to the typing part. On portrait mode, you have the alpha-numeric keypad. On landscape mode, the phone automatically becomes a full keyboard keyboard. With the sensitive screen, typing in this handset is fun and easy. Aside from SMS, you also get MMS, and emails. Setting up the latter is not a problem at all. The web browsing part was also pure delight. You have Flash support so you get full web browsing experience. You can open multiple pages and multiple downloads are possible.
Let’s move to the fun stuff. This handset has a wonderful media gallery. Browsing is fun and smooth. The music player also looks great. We are sure many people will find the layout appealing. For more music-related fun, this handset has an FM radio with RDS. For entertainment of the visual kind, this handset has an impressive video player and an equally-satisfactory 5MP camera. We seriously have nothing to complain about when it comes to this handset’s multimedia features.
