During the Computex trade show in Taipei on Monday, ViewSonic officially took the wraps off of its ViewPad 7x Android tablet. We had heard mumblings of the device earlier this month, but now we know all of the ins and outs of the tablet: it runs Android 3.0.1 Honeycomb, is powered by a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, has HSPA+ connectivity, an HDMI-out port, rear and front facing cameras, and a 7-inch LED display with a 1024 x 600 resolution.

We hope ViewSonic has plans to update the 7x to Google’s newer Android 3.1 operating system once it launches, but it’s not clear if that’s in the works right now. ViewSonic has not yet announced details on pricing or revealed a launch date, either. Hit the jump for the full release.

A lot of interesting news is expected in the next two days. E3 conference dedicated to the computer and video games and everything concerned with it has opened. Particularly, there will be officially presented a new version of the portable game consoles PSP Go. Tomorrow starts the same exhibition Computex, dedicated to electronics and IT. And we already have the first news from there.

During the exhibition was noticed  a smartbook ASUS Eee PC prototype, running on Snapdragon-based chipsets with a frequency of 1 GHz and managed by OS Android. But what is most interesting – the system works without a cooler.

Low power, secured by a new chipset Snapdragon, not only helps to extend the work of the gadget, but to abandon the active cooling. This smartbook is able to not only to provide easy surfing on the network, but also play HD video with a resolution of 720p.

Also soon will be released a model with better graphics and chipsets Snapdragon on 1.3 GHz and 1.5 GHz with dual processors. Let’s hope that in the coming days we’ll have more details describing the smartbook.

Dignlab is ready to help those who do not have enough working space at home or in the office. It has recently presented the world’s first wall hanging computer at Computex exhibition in Taipei. The most obvious advantage of this computer to any desktop PC is that it does not need to have space on the table.

And it is small enough – only 56mm x 196mm x 325mm with fitted 7-inch touch screen, integrated card reader and 3.5-inch hard drive of a new generation. While we don’t have exact data concerning this PC configuration, nevertheless, it is a promising project, and its release can be expected in the near future.

Computex exhibition ended, but we have examined not all the interesting gadgets. Today we’ll catch up, paying attention to the demonstration of eSlick Reader of the a well-known company Foxit.

In fact eSlick Reader is cheaper (and not tied to Whispernet) than alternative Amazon Kindle 2. The price of the reader is now $ 259.99, but by the completion the market price should rise up to $ 299.

The screen with a diagonal of 6 inches is made on the basis of electronic ink, using Viziplex, which makes it virtually the same screen as Kindle 2. Plus reader (from the box) supports PDF and TXT, but the delivery includes software to create PDF from Foxit, so that the creation of documents in this format will not be a problem.

If desired eSlick Reader can be used as an MP3-player. Also the facilities include an opportunity to change the page orientation (portrait / landscape).

The minuses are: lack of wireless connectivity and a small amount of internal memory (only 128 Mb). However, the memory can be expanded up to 4 gigabytes by using the card format SD, but to connect to a PC will be possible only through USB.

And here is another interesting concept from Computex. This time it is an unusual electronic photo frame from SilverPac and Microsoft.
From all these new gadgets, the new photo frame differs by the use of Windows Embedded 6.0, and Microsoft software like Windows SideShow, and Windows Live FrameIt. From the technical characteristics we are only informed that the gadget has a touch screen with a diagonal of 10.1 inches (25.7 cm), and there is a built-in wireless standard 802.11n support.

Potentially, such a bundle of technical data and software means that the frame can be used as a network media player. Also SilverFrame can be synchronized with the calendar on your PC and work as reminder / organizer, plus the opportunity to receive and send e-mails directly from the gadget, though it is not the most sensible way to manage a mail.

The bad news is that it will not be released very soon. Concept is presented for the purpose of interest of promotion and distribution of one of the major brands of similar products.
