Nokia has recently launched their Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone devices in markets other than the US, so how are they holding up? Well, according to Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop, the response to these new Windows Phones from Nokia have been pretty good so far.

“The reaction is remarkably positive,” Elop said in Barcelona at a conference organized by Morgan Stanley yesterday. “We need to introduce the experience to consumers to get them to try it because we know once they try it they will like it.”

Stephen Elop also predicts that demand for Windows Phone devices will start to pick up once Microsoft begins rolling out their Windows 8 platform, which will also feature the trademarked tile system that many Windows Phone users have come to know. Granted Windows Phone devices aren’t as powerful in terms of hardware compared to Android and the iPhone, but given that Nokia is a well established brand for mobile phones, coupled with Microsoft’s backing and funding for marketing, it would be very disappointing to see Nokia and Windows Phone flop.

We know that AT&T and Nokia are in talks about bringing Nokia’s Windows Phone devices to the US next year, so hopefully with the possibility of 4G LTE connectivity on Windows Phone devices will make adoption of the platform and handsets more favorable in the US. In the meantime you can check out our review of the Nokia Lumia 800 here.

During its regular conference Apple announced that 10 million iPhone were sold in 2008 calendar year, since last month has been sold more than 6.8 million iPhone 3G. Executive Director of Apple, Steve Jobs said: “Apple has surpassed RIM! And RIM – a quality company selling quality products. Apple became the third largest global supplier of mobile phones.

iPhone 3G together with Apple TV brought $11.7 billion revenue and $2.4 billion profit. But given the status of the Apple TV, this profit is largely a credit to iPhone.
Nokia and Samsung are the first and second handset manufacturers respectively, and RIM sold 6.1 million BlackBerry smartphones at the moment.

Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Nokia, and NTT DoCoMo announced their intention to merge S60, UIQ, Symbina OS, and MOAP in order to create a single open mobile platform. In addition to the above brands, AT & T, Samsung Electronics, Vodafone, LG Electronics, Texas Instruments, and STMicroelectronics will also join this project.
These large, powerful mobile giants plan to adopt the position of the Symbian Foundation, an open platform, which has grown on the basis of Symbian Limited.

To create the Foundation, Nokia acquired the remaining assets of Symbian Limited. Motorola and Sony Ericsson announced the transfer of the technology UQI, and DoCoMo – MOAP. The new platform will be available in the near future.
Nigel Clifford, Symbian CEO said: “Ten years ago, Symbian was established by visionary people who wanted to provide the entire mobile industry on advanced open operating system. We want to become the most used OS on the planet, and today the Symbian mobile phone market has no equal. ”
President of Sony Ericsson, Dick Komyama, added: “Gross operating platform, which wants to provide the Foundation, will allow producers to turn their attention to the technical characteristics of the phones. Sony Ericsson believes that the Symbian Foundation platform will ease manufacturers lives, giving them the opportunity to provide more innovation and quality applications.”

If you are tired of matted pile of wires and the various charges and you often cannot find what you were looking for – do not worry. The Italian design bureau Italdesign Giugiaro, offers his own solution – a universal Messless Charger.

The device has a lot of adapters, so you can charge Smartphones iPhone, MP3 players iPod, Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones, as well as gadgets with mini-USB input. In addition, the device can charge portable gaming consoles, digital cameras, etc.

But that’s not all: the charger itself, in fact, is a large dock, where up to 4 gadgets can be placed simultaneously. In other words, if you have a big family or you use all the gadgets at once, the decision of the Italians will be useful in such situations. With the help of Messless Charger you can charge laptops and other electronics, which require a higher voltage.

The world-famous Finnish company Nokia, the manufacturer, which mobile phones are almost in all pockets, in collaboration with scientists at the University of Cambridge have developed the concept of a unique technology, and introduced the mobile of the future Nokia Morph. This unusual phone can be folded, stretched and put together as you like. This unusual ability of the phone is explained by the use of nanotechnology.

The new gadget Nokia Morph has a flexible color touch display. Another advantage is the ability of working on solar energy and analyzing the conditions of the environment and giving this information to the owner. Translucent plastic shell of the gadget looks more like an unusual eraser than a mobile phone.

But, only some elements of the Nokia Morph concept will make its customers happy after 7 years. And if you want to look at the development of scientists and to see the gadget of the future with your own eyes, go to New York, the Museum of Modern
Art. Everybody can see the miracle technology in real at the Design and the Elastic Mind exhibition.
