Samsung has announced not one, but two new music players for music lovers. The YP-Q3 and YP-U6 will both be showcased at the upcoming IFA show.

The YP-Q2 features a simple design with a color-matching user interface, 5.1-channel sound support, SoundAlive, and up to 45 hours of audio playback and 6-hours of video playback. The YP-U6 is a simpler media player with a color display, SoundAlive, fitness mode, voice feedback, and up to 20 hours of continuous audio playback per charge.

During its regular conference Apple announced that 10 million iPhone were sold in 2008 calendar year, since last month has been sold more than 6.8 million iPhone 3G. Executive Director of Apple, Steve Jobs said: “Apple has surpassed RIM! And RIM – a quality company selling quality products. Apple became the third largest global supplier of mobile phones.

Soon, Samsung will release another mobile phone GT-B7620. Despite the fact that the phones B7XXX belong to a series of Omnia Pro, this will have a copy in stores under the name of Giorgio Armani 2.

Company Samsung has not yet announced its new model i7110 smart phone made on a platform of latest Symbian S60 UI with FP2. But the information about its 5-megapixel camera and great multimedia capabilities already appeared in August.

Almost at the same Samsung S3600 phone for middle class buyers was announced. It is made with the same style decision as Samsung G400, but it differs from its reduced functionality.

Samsung i7110 has an 2.6-inch display that supports 16 million colors, accelerometer in order to automatically rotate the image on the screen, GPS-receiver, FM-receiver, an optical joystick, and, of course, the 5-megapixel camera with two LEDs flash. Smartphone works with GSM, 3G networks with HSDPA, Wi-Fi with DLNA and excellently reads video formats, DivX and XviD.

The official announcement of a smart phone will be held this month.

But the only advantage of Samsung S3600 is its design. The phone is made in a metal shell; it has a display of 2.2 inches diagonally with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels and can display 65 thousand colors. Integrated memory is 30MB, but there is a microSD memory slot, extending it to 2GB. It has Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, and FM-receiver.

This smart phone will cost about $110.

Perhaps in a couple of years it will become fashionable to buy phones with projectors. The company Samsung has already introduced two miniature projectors built into the player, and smart phone.

This DLP-projector will make it possible to project an image or video stored in your phone directly on a wall or other flat surface.

Player with the pico-projector from Samsung plays video and audio files, it has a TV tuner, the diagonal of the display is 5.6 cm. There is a slot for memory cards. It is a typical smart phone with a full range of functions, built on a platform of TouchWiz.

The manufacturer contends that they plan the creation of a few gadgets with pico-projectors. Perhaps they really will be in demand.

FreeLoader Pro is a wonderful gadget that can be a good present for everybody. This is not the first charger, running on solar panels, but the compact size and functionality is very beneficial to distinguish it from other similar devices.

Pixel Qi, recently presented a working prototype of the display 3Qi, which certainly attracted the attention of the public. At SID exhibition Korean giant introduced 10.2-inch diagonal screen-based electronic paper capable to reproduce video. It sounds very unusual, but the screen is indeed a combination of LCD and E Ink (in 3Qi there was just 2 mode LCD).

Active matrix works with « cholesteric» (cholesteric liquid crystals), which can be switched between two states. In the «memory» pixels retain their state even without the constant feeding, and during a «dynamic» mode, they work as LCD panel and can display moving images.

«We are not interested to develop conventional displays based on electronic paper … this time we decided to do something that no one would do» – said the representative of Samsung Electronics.

The demonstrated prototype has a resolution of 320×240 and can display 64 colors with a response time less than 25 milliseconds. Judging by the reviews, the concept is still quite far from entering the market. There is still no information that the company plans to use this technology.

It’s not a secret that in our digital age, many people often remember good old days, when waggling arrows were used instead of heartless numerals. For these people Samsung offers its new digital camera WB1000, which displays the battery time and remaining space in the memory in digital form, and with the help of analog indicators.
