USB Gadget

September 2, 2009 | No Comments | PC Gadgets

USB, of course, is the most frequently used port on your computer. But the length of a USB cable does not always satisfy: the flash does not work through the extender of a half meters in length, the printer does not hold out and you have to do the next reshuffle, clearing the way closer to the system unit. What can we say about the desire to connect to devices that are installed much further and require a serious effort to move.

3
As it turned out, this problem is insurmountable. Company Icron offers a gadget that allows you to increase the distance of the USB port on … 100 meters.
Ranger 2101/2104 allows you to connect any device to the USB port on your computer at a distance of 100 meters. This cable is used as a common standard twisted-pair CAT5 Ethernet.
Extension consists of two blocks. One of them is connected to a computer, and is equipped with a 8P8C plug (which is popular as RJ45), transmits the signal further. Second block receives the signal in the same slot and accordingly transmits it to the input (or inputs, depending on configuration) of the USB. Manufacturer claims that the devices work as connected to the connectors of the PC.
This gadget’s price is $349 (one USB exit) or $389 (4 USB ports).
